Welcome to Bumblebees and Butterflies

Welcome back!  

We hope that you had a relaxing Christmas break and feel refreshed ready for the new term!  

During Spring term, our topics will be Fairy Tales and Farms.

During our Fairy Tales topic, we will listen to lots of traditional stories including ‘The Gingerbread Man’, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears and ‘The Little Red Hen’, and also some alternative versions of these. We will be learning about heroes and villains in our stories. We will get the chance to build boats for the gingerbread man and test them to see if they float or sink and we will also be making some bread, just like the little red hen! 

During our Farms topic we will be learning about the different jobs a farmer does. We will find out about the different animals that are found on a farm and we will be learning all about chicks. Some of the stories that we will be reading are ‘Pig in the Pond’, ‘What the Ladybird Heard and ‘Farmer Duck’.  

The children should continue to practise reading and counting every day to help support their learning in school.  

We are excited to welcome the children back into school ready for another term full of fun and learning!
