Welcome to the new school year!

We hope you have all had a super summer holiday and are well-rested ready for an exciting term.

This term our topic is Superheroes and we will be looking at real-life superheroes as well as those in stories.  Our two main books will be Supertato and Traction Man.  In Science we will be finding out about different types of materials and their properties.  We will use this information to make a new cape for Supertato in DT!

The children should be reading and practising their spellings each evening.  New reading books will be given out on Wednesdays and Fridays and new spellings on Fridays.  Maths homework will be set on Seesaw each Thursday.

We are excited to get started on our new learning and get to know you all.

These books are read as class texts over the course of the year to encourage positive and guided discussion of the protected characteristics. At Westfield, we strive to create an environment where children can share their opinions and ask questions.
